Restaurant SEO and your Google Business Profile
An accurate Google listing, every review answered and a website written around what your neighbours actually search for. We keep all of it in step so you can stay in the kitchen.
What does restaurant SEO actually mean?
Restaurant SEO means showing up when someone nearby searches for food you serve. It comes down to an accurate Google Business Profile, answered reviews and a fast website with a real menu.
Picture someone on a corner with two bars of signal, typing "dinner near me" or "brunch near me". They pick from the few places Google shows them, glance at the photos, check you are open, read a review or two and tap for directions. The whole decision takes less time than plating a starter.
What they see is mostly your Google Business Profile, with your website one tap behind it. If the hours are wrong, the menu link is dead or the last angry review sits there unanswered, they keep scrolling. None of it is about tricks. If you are not showing up at all, start with why a restaurant does not show up for near me searches.
What goes into a Google Business Profile done properly?
A restaurant Google Business Profile done properly has the right category, accurate regular and holiday hours, a working menu link and phone number, current photos, the attributes people filter by and short posts for what is on.
Most listings we open were filled in once, years ago, and left alone. We go through every part of yours the way a stranger would read it, then fix what is missing or wrong.
- CategoriesYour primary category decides a lot about which searches you appear for, so it should say what you are: pizza restaurant, café, bakery, ramen restaurant. Then we add the extra categories that are true for you, and only those.
- Hours, including holidaysRegular hours, plus holiday hours set ahead of time, so nobody drives over on a long weekend to a dark window.
- Menu link and phoneA menu link that goes to a real menu page, not a PDF, and a phone number that rings at the restaurant.
- PhotosYour own photos of the room, the front door and the dishes people come for, kept current as the menu changes.
- AttributesThe small details people filter by: patio, takeout, delivery, wheelchair access, reservations, vegetarian options.
- PostsShort updates on the listing for what is on: the new seasonal menu, a holiday closing, the soup coming back for winter.
If you want to check your own listing first, our Google Business Profile checklist for restaurants walks through the same list. If your listing has disappeared, read what to do when a restaurant's Google Business Profile is suspended.
Every review answered, in your voice.
Domin8te Media answers every new Google review, good or bad, in the owner's voice. An answered review shows the writer that someone read it, and shows the next stranger how you treat people when things go wrong.
A thank you to the regular who mentioned the server by name. A calm, specific reply to the person who waited too long on a busy Saturday, saying what happened and what you are doing about it. Replies sound like the owner, not like a call centre.
Asking for reviews, the right way
The best reviews come from happy guests who were simply asked. We help you ask in a way that respects Canada's anti-spam law, CASL. That means only sending messages to people who agreed to hear from you. A small sign at the counter or a card with the bill is fine, because the guest chooses to act on it. Messaging a list of people who never signed up is not.
How does a restaurant website help local search?
A restaurant website helps local search by telling Google what you serve and where you are. That takes a page that loads fast on a phone, the menu as real text instead of a PDF, and the words locals actually use.
Those words are your dish names, "brunch", "patio", the name of your neighbourhood and the streets people know it by. Your name, address and phone number should also read exactly the same on the site, on Google, on Apple Maps and everywhere else you are listed. Small differences, like an old suite number or a second phone line, make it harder for search engines to be sure they are all the same place.
If your current site is slow or hides the menu, that is a job for restaurant website design, and we do both together so they stay in step.
Change your hours once. Everywhere follows.
Confirm new hours once and Domin8te Media updates Google, Apple Maps and your website together, so every guest sees the same hours wherever they look.
Hours drift. You close early on Mondays for the winter, the website still says one thing, Apple Maps says another, and a family walks up to a locked door. That family remembers. The same goes for a dish that comes off the menu: when it changes on the site, it changes on the listing too.

Questions owners ask
How long until we show up better on Google?
Nobody can honestly promise a date, because it depends on your area and how many places nearby are competing for the same searches. Fixing wrong hours, a missing menu link or the wrong category helps the people who already find you, and the rest builds as your listing, reviews and site stay accurate. We will not promise a ranking or a date.
Do I need to give you my Google login?
No, you do not give us your Google login. You add us as a manager on your Google Business Profile from your own account. You stay the owner, and you can remove our access whenever you like.
Can you remove bad reviews?
No, we cannot remove bad reviews, but we reply to them calmly and well, which often matters more to the next reader than the review itself. We only flag reviews that break Google's own rules, such as spam or reviews from people who were never customers, and Google decides what happens to them.
Is SEO different for a café than for a restaurant?
Café SEO rests on the same groundwork as restaurant SEO: an accurate Google Business Profile, answered reviews and a fast site with a real menu. What changes is the detail. A café gets searched for "coffee near me" or "latte", a restaurant for "dinner near me" or a cuisine, so the categories, attributes and words on the site follow what your guests actually type.
How fast do I hear back?
You hear back within one business day. Send the form on the homepage or email karanhelps@domin8temedia.com and you get a plain English plan that says what needs fixing first on your listing and site, and why. It is not a pitch deck.
